- A person who knows that God values and loves her/him. - Recognises that sin separates us from God. - A person who knows Jesus died to restore her/him to God by his death upon the cross. - Understands and receives God’s forgiveness. - A person who worships God with others. - A person who knows God’s peace. - A person who knows she/he is not alone. - A person who experiences the relationship of God’s love through prayer, and the inner witness of God’s presence by His Spirit. - A person who loves God and his neighbour as her/himself and seeks to live in such a way as to demonstrate this in life.
FIRST LET’S CONSIDER WHAT CHRISTIANS ARE NOT! - People who have been born in a Christian country. - People who believe in a God. - People who traditionally go to church. - People who say their prayers. -People who are not just decent, good, and moral. - People who know all the answers to life. - People who don’t know how to enjoy life.
People become Christians in a variety of ways, some of which are illustrated in the diagram below, but always at the heart is a life changing relationship encounter with Jesus who gives each person a new start in life which changes its direction and focus.
